Pulpit Rock Tower Tours

  • Approximately 851 NH-1A Rye, NH United States (map)

This tower was completed in 1943 as part of the fire control system for the harbor defense cannons at Fort Dearborn.

The Friends of Pulpit Rock Tower will open the tower for tours.  Because of limited space inside, timed tickets will be required for 15-minute visits by eight visitors at a time.  Docents will explain how the tower was used.

Please park in the parking area on the ocean side of Route 1A, carefully cross the road, and walk up Neptune Drive to the tower.  In the event of steady rain, the event will be cancelled.  Winding stairs and ladders must be climbed to reach the observation levels on the top two floors.  Only persons in good health and having good mobility should attempt to climb the tower.  Sorry, the minimum height is 42” and children may not be carried.  There is no charge for the tour, but donations to the Friends of Pulpit Rock Tower are very appreciated; suggested donation is $5/person or $10/family, please give what you can!
