Rye Century Walks: 1942-1945 Fort Dearborn

  • Seacoast Science Center 570 Ocean Boulevard Rye, NH, 03870 United States (map)

We will walk from the Seacoast Science Center about ½ mile to the World War II Battery Seaman in the Frost Point area of the state park. Docents will explain why the battery of two 16-inch cannons were built and how it would have been used.

Approximately 1-mile round trip on unpaved paths with some uneven ground; closed toe footwear is recommended.  Registration is required; 25-person limit.

In the event of steady rain, the event will be cancelled.

Information will be available for a self-guided tour of Battery 204 (exterior only) near the parking area and the remains of WW2 structures at the south end of the state park.
